1786 1/2 Reale yesterday and other goodies today....

Last night I hit the field I was just given permission to detect and managed to pull out a 1786 1/2 reale so this morning, I invited Bill D. to try his luck. He did find some nice stuff like a '46 quarter, wheatie and a button. I got a seed tag, what appears to be a General service button with Waterbury on the backmark and a pocket watch thingy.

The ground is like butter and so easy to dig. No crops and very clean. We did go around the path along the soybeans where the house site once stood and Bill says there was alot of iron. Don't care too much for iron but he likes it! This fall will be a fun time!

I'll take that 1/2 reale any day over my insignificant silver quarter (even though its worth $5 like you said!). You've been tearing it up lately at the beach and in the relic fields, so the next time I see you I'll take you down to the local 7-11 so you can buy me a lottery ticket. You're right and the plural is reales, but I like the "e" on the end instead of pronouncing it real - ree-uh.
