Just got this one tonight. The Large Cent Collection is growing.

I thought that this coin had a nice mix of corrosion and detail. Trying to find one of these without corrosion........ You had better have DEEP pockets. The overall detail on this coin is quite nice ;D

The Liberty Caps are my favorite by far, you did not say if it was identified by variety? I have the coin attributed by variety if you want to know it.

The only thing that I think I know is that it is "Head of 94". Help with a Sheldon # would be greatly appriciated.

Well, I went looking through my book and out of the zillion varieties it was the LAST one listed! LOL. I am positive it is a Head of 1795, Exact Head of 95 variety - Sheldon 72 - Common (Evidently the last 1794 variety minted)

The very last variety of 1794 cent - this one is known as the "Exact head of 1795," because it is just like the portrait used for the 1795 cents. The lowest lock of hair does not come to a curl on this coin like on virtually all of the earlier 1794's.

Thank You Don :notworthy:

You are right about there being MANY varieties for the 1794. This coin is probably the best one that I have owned. I will have to lable it and look for another variety next time ;D

Give me a few min and I will post a pic of the Large Cent collection. ( So far )

Thanks again for the help, VPR
