Hi all, been a while since I posted anything here. With work and family time it does get hard to get out. Anyway, on Saturday I went with my two hunting pals "Walk the Dog" and "Edot". While searching an open field I recovered my oldest US Coin. A 1796 Capped Cent. It was actually my first time out with my new detector. While the coin is in poor shape, It made for a nice day. I also dug this old Buckle. I think it might be colonial. If anyone knows more about it, please chime in. Thanks and HH

SS, here is the back. Can any of you guys give me an approximate date that it might have been made ?
Can you see were a centre pin might have been, running the width or length?

If it's a decorated shoe buckle, that type dates to 1730-1760.

Thanks SS, The pin runs the width. Thanks for dating it for me. :icon_thumleft:
