I found one part of a very very rare buckle called the Eureka Gold rush buckle. Can someone tell me what?s the going price for this piece?

I'm surprised at the sale price. As xaos pointed out it's a reproduction casting that doesn't match the original on several counts - the stars being the most obvious. Also the patina appears to be much more recent than one would expect.

It's a cool, unusual and exciting find but it's not an original.

it?s funny you say this is a reproduction because this was actually found metal detecting at an old ranch site that was 1800?s. In the ground! So, how can it be a reproduction? Plus, there are markings on the backside of the buckle, some sort of lettering. The fake ones don?t have this lettering! Bro, I think you are the one that?s wrong about this!!

It’s funny that Xaos is saying it’s fake, I had the first person who wanted it. One of the first things he asked me if there was markings on the backside of my buckle and I looked and they were there. That’s the first thing he asked of me, I told him there it was on the buckle, that same person was practically begging to get it from me!! On top of that he wrote an article about the Eureka Buckle it’s self. I am the guy that sold that buckle. From what all the collectors were telling me it’s an original.. So, believe me or not, this buckle was found metal detecting at the 1800’s ranch. Everything I find the is from the 1800’s… So, how can this be a replica? Oh, let me guess, someone recently went to this old ranch and buried it!!! ����

The stars and all look authentic to me. It sold for over $2500.
