1800's camp site????

While I was detecting before surgery the other day I was at my campground in Homer Mi, way back through the woods in a mowed center grassy area by a river. Nobody has ever detected here before to anyones knowledge. the first thing I founds was a copper/bronze lock plate for a some kind of lock box the 2nd thing was a very small brass ring that they used for canvas tarps and the 3rd thing I found was a 3ring bullet. I was wondering if it was a infantry camp or something.

I found some other items as well but it was trash, I have done some research but couldnt find anything, so some info would be nice if anyone has some. The campground land was purchased from the Amish in the 60's.

Here is a pic of where I detected..Mind you I was only there for 20-40mins. View attachment camp.bmp

Could be. Would have to see the bullet to date. Does appear to be near water.

Just as a side note...you're giving up quite a lot of information in that picture...the lat. and long. is in the url...might want to make it a little more vague...
