She's a little toasty but my first half cent and a day saver! Found in a small field near an 1800s homestead. Rinsed with soapy water.

I'd love more info. Thanks for looking!

Wow what are the chances of another one dug a day or two later. Great coin

That is cool, just like when all the GW buttons were popping up. Nice save

Thanks, all! This is why I love the hobby. I sure wish mine came out of the ground as beautiful as yours! Regardless, a huge find for me in my own home township.

Nice find, but it is an 1808. Never found a half cent. Congrats!

Heck, I cant even find a flippin Indian head penny! -....sigh...But Congrats on that super awesome coin and Thank You for sharing!!!!!:notworthy:

Congrats! It seems to be rare coin week!

I agree with doninbrewster that your Half Cent is a 1808 and not a 1802. It is not a question of looking at the date always, which does look like an 8 but imagination can make a 2, but look at other features and the reverse side is all telling that it is not the reverse of an 1802 but matches the 1808 reverse, especially look at the fraction numbers spacing and size.

Congratulations on getting your first Half Cent and may some more be in your future.

Don
