A hay field that had been producing lots this spring was finally cut. I love this field! I turned my machine on on top of an IHP- a good sign of things to come.

Found my first half cent-1809 classic head in beautiful shape. Also found my first cufflinks. Any help on the age? Also my first flat button with gold gilt left on the back along with the cloth from when it fell off. Not pictured is the IHP (1900 something), a crotal bell, some kind of strap buckle and the piece of another type of buckle, possibly colonial.

Thanks for looking! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499648968.806224.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499648981.057762.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499648989.590239.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1499648998.656402.jpg

Really nice. I think those cufflinks are Colonial Maybe. Be careful with that half half-cent it does not look like it wants to be cleaned

In a time when it costs 2 1/2 cents to make a pos zinc penny and most of America wants to discontinue old Abe, it is hard to imagine how valuable a 1/2 penny coin was! SO very cool. I agree with Relic that it looks like it will laminate if cleaned. Looks very shaky. I am not so sure on the cufflink being Colonial. What makes you think so Relic?

I think it is the hand carved design that looked Colonial to me but now that I think about it most of the Colonials I have seen where oval could go either way I guess

It would be interesting to see some back side pics. I feel that the double bar design is much later than the date on the coin. Just my gut. Can we get some back pics?

Late 18th C Cuff-link (Linked-button) It should have 1 long link & the 2 shanks on the buttons should be slightly squared off. (Flatten, not rounded)

Thanks Scrappy. That is exciting you think they are colonial. I will post some back photos when I have time this evening. I was super excited to see them come out of the ground. I love the hand etching, so beautiful and original!
