I bought this 1821 Ferdinand VII 8 Reale at a multi dealer antique shop a couple of months ago. I am still not sure if it is real. Please let me know what you think. It weights 27.1 grams. It is 38 mm in diameter.

test with a magnet, then ask your LCS to use the electronic tester on it
 

Looks good to me, including the corded edge. Standard weight is 27.07,Silver 0.7859 oz ASW and the mint is Zacatecas (Zs). This variety was minted between 1813 and 1822; assayer RG. This is the least expensive 8R Zs coin minted in this variety during this period.

It is genuine but it appears to be suffering from some damage at the top as well as some obverse graffiti. I hope you didn't pay too much.

I only paid $20! I figured it was worth the risk.

The top appears to have been minted that way. I will post a better pic of that later when I get home. The edge design is not damaged in that area.
