I Went out for awhile yesterday and found some goodies. Found an 1839 Braided Hair Cent. Does anyone think that it would be worth getting graded? If so Where? I also found 2 Indian heads, 1 1905 and 1896. The 1896 has very good detail. Need to clean the 1905 alittle better. All in all a great day.

Chuck,

the 1839 cent appears to be the "Booby Head" variety and grades Good to Very Good. It's monetary value is likely less than $20, meaning it would not justify grading it. However, it's a really nice find and something that few of us ever dig up.

Thanks for the Reply rhedden. I didn't figure it was worth a whole lot.

Very nice large cent find cbbrink. Can't tell from the picture how well it would grade.
A VF -EF grade would give it a dealer buy price of $17-$40.00.There is also a 9/6
strike that would be worth a considerable amount more. This information is from
the Whitman Bluebook of U. S. Coins 2005.Those IHd's are some nice finds to.
Keep up the good work.? ? HH!
