I got out today to finish a couple of fields I had only hit once before and sure glad I did. The first field I spent about 3 hours and came away with a nice 1870 Shield Nickel. The second field was very muddy and signals were pretty sparse. I didn't dig a single thing for over an hour. I started working close to the road and got a nice signal that is usually a button or fatty indian and out popped my first Flying Eagle an 1858. That was a heck of a way to end the field season!

The Flying Eagle was only circulated for 2 years, that's where the happiness comes from. Very hard to find coin 8-)

Thanks! On nickle based coins I use an S.O.S. pad on them. Electrolysis on corroded nickle doesn't come out very well to say the least.

Cool I found my first Flying eagle about 4 weeks ago about 4 inches from a Indian, Could not tell what it was untill after 6-7 peroxide baths and then saw that the wreath was wrong for an Indian, A couple more baths and Finallt i could just barely make out the top of one of the wings. Rough, but i can tell you it's a flying eagle, I'm happy.HH
