186 Golden Finds !

These tasty morsels are as good as gold to me ! Went on my first outing of the season this morning, and managed to corral 186 of these golden (and some gray) beauties. Hit one good patch that had 86 alone. Next week should be even better with the larger "yellows" coming in. Back to detecting tomorrow, then Morels again the next 3 Saturdays, and the short season will be over.

Good luck to you Gary. Yesterday's total was not a typical 1 day total for me. I have found as few as 10 in a season to 300 in a season. As you already know, they are very weather dependent and I hope this weeks chilly temps are not going to put a halt to the very short 3-4 week season. I am also very fortunate that "my spot" is 240 acres owned by my brother. That always helps a little. I just walk the same circuit every year.
