Completely cool. All the trade dollars I have seen are usually fakes..that one looks legit.

Someone carried that in their pocket for a lifetime and maybe the person it was handed down to as well. Trade Dollars are definitely one of my favorites and the fact that it has a sneak in it is even better! What an awesome find

Man I'm going nuts looking at all the great stuff posted on the forum! No swinging the coil probably until April for me! Anyways.... Awesome find! Can't believe the paper was still intact! Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Big hunks of old silver , and a super personal relic. Hard to imagine a better day hunting. Its remarkable that the piece of paper survived. Great, great finds.

I'm pretty sure there has never been one of these posted here. The fact that it features a genuinely rare American Silver Dollar ( rarely posted here !) and is formatted in such an unusual manner ( hinged locket / box) makes this an easy Banner nomination for me ! Incredible find .

Awesome find, can't say I've ever seen one and to get one with a note inside is even better

Trade dollars don't get posted often. For the most part those dollars were sent to the ORIENT ,because they were heavier than regular ones.ihave seen chop marks on them.YOUR LOCKET IS NEAT ,AND HAD A STORY TO TELL.
