Thanks, Floater, my hubby enjoyed doing the digging, pulling them out of the ground, smiling and announcing the dates! Time outside tho was limited because of the rain. We were outside when it started thundering above us. I asked him if my metal detector would be a lightning rod...maybe it would blow all the silver out of the yard! LOL

To answer Rod's question...

Our house was built in 1917. At one time, the previous owners owned the whole block. (approx. 8 city lots. We now own 3 full and 3 partial of the lots.) A bank was built on the corner (now a bar), and next to that a post office (turned into a home), next was the blacksmith shop...the slab is still there, then two houses and the town hall. Since our house was built first, it faces the back of the row. Between the front of our house and the backs of the row, there used to be an alley (which is now just grass). Before the previous owners built the house, this land was bought on and off by the Soo Line/Northern Railroad Lines many times over!

THEN when I was talking to my friend across town (population 99 including the cows), she told me her mother-in-law's house was the bankers house! She said I could MD there but will have to spit the take (which is okay). I wonder if the banker mistrusted the bank himself and buried a cache! That yard is one of my summer projects...could be very interesting.
