it is very crusty but it is all mine...lol :thumbsup:
it is only my second ever v-nickel I have ever dug, 1899, came out of a field where an old church once stood. Ground was semi froze, so I will return when I can dig easier, here is before and after cleaning it up

Nice find. Bet the ground was frozen. I got out today and it was hard....... still. By sat will be in the 60's YEAH :icon_sunny:

yep I managed to hunt for about an hour amazing how the ground got so hard again, I hunted several days last week and the ground was all thawed, those 2-3 real cold days sure got it froze again

how I clean nickels is like this:

mix a spoon of salt in 1/2 cup venegar, stir till it disolves, place nickel in this and swirl it around for 2-3 minutes, the red will start to come off fairly quick, remove it and rub baking soda on it, rinse, dry, and if i needs more, do the process over. Works on any nickels

I like it pretty well, good machine that gets decent depth
