hi all.... ;D thanks for all the replies!! these pics have better detail... the ring fits my pinky perfect... i sit & wonder about the history... who they were... how much they loved eachother... wearing it, i get a sense they led happy lives.... when i get a chance i will do some reserch & try to figure out who they were & if they have family in the area.... i will report back. i was using my whites classic III when i found it about 6" under the grass. it was a weak signal, but with every swipe it sounded solid....

thanks again for looking & happy hunting - harpp

??? :icon_scratch: :icon_study: :-\ ::) unfortunately, with only initials for referrence, :icon_scratch: finding these people is not gonna happen...
all data bases need names to locate records... oh well.... :icon_pirat:

That is beautiful! In my opinion, that's the best thing about treasure hunting; the history we find! Way to go!

A very nice ring, probably has a great story to go with it. I see a line, was it cut?

Wow, thanks for posting, I have suspicions about a dated ring I got about a week ago. The date is June 12, 97. It was about 6-8" deep, and the ring has definate wear from being worn. I figured there was no way it could be 1997. And now that I see yours, the script is identical. Could you post a pic of the hallmark on yours, I can kinda see it in one of the pics, and from what I can tell, It's identical to mine. Awesome dig!!!!!! super congrats, and thanks for the post.

Beautiful ring!!!!!!!!!!

If you found that ring in your locale, head to the courthouse in your area that would store the marriage records. Then find the book(s) for the date of 4 June 1876 and see if any of the initials match up to the names. I tried doing a genealogy search by the date and the two intials I could see, to no avail. Your best bet would be the courthouse.

Also, whomever owned that ring may not have come from that area either...so it's hard to say. But it's worth a shot in the dark.

I tried doing a newspaper search for anyone married on that date and only came up with 3 hits, the names did not match the initials.

But, that's a beautiful find...congrats!

YIS & YIMD,
Annmarie
