I was driving down a well traveled road near my office yesterday, when I noticed a small stone wall across from an office building. I got out to investigate and found an old graveyard.
Most of the stones date before 1820, and one simple stone was hand engraved "M.F. 1789"
It is surrounded by open fields with no visible property signs. About 1/4 mile away there are signs marked "no tresspassing". I have a feeling the property is now the local township's.
It should be noted that many of the stones mark the graves of young children. The mortality rate was very high for the young back in the day.
