Hello!

WOW ~ today was so nice I just had to take off of work to go detecting! Got lucky to be invited to detect a home-owner's front yard! Here's what I dug today:

1902 V nickel
2- 1944-s Mercury dimes
old military button
silver ring
20 wheat cents dating from 1917 to 1956
11 clad quarters
18 clad dimes
3 modern nickels
38 memorial cents

I took pic's of the old coins, button, and ring before and after I cleaned 'em up. These dimes are my silver coin finds #148 & #149 for the year!

Anyone have any idea what this silver ring is? There's no markings in the inside ~ the top is pretty worn ~ I can't make out the writing even zooming in on it (see pics'). It weights 6.6 grams.

Also, I took a close-up pic of the date area on the V nickel ~ it's in pretty bad shape ~ well worn!

Thanks for looking!
Neil

I guess that I delayed you just enough that I brought
you some good luck. Congratulations on your silvers
#148 and #149 and the V nickle. Still think the silver
ring is a fraternity related ring. Good hunt Neil.

Man do you ever get the spots!

Every time you post I keep thinking - OK, now he's got everything there is to get in Oregon :)

Then the next post comes along...

Great finds!!!

My first thought on the ring was military insignia.

I have to give it to you Neil. You and that etrac are a killing machine. 150 silver in one year is just outstanding. I bet next year will be even better :notworthy:

Loving the silver and the V-nickel! :) Your getting close to 200 silvers for the year. If you really crank on detecting in the next two weeks, you may be able to do it!
