They looked gold plated or gold colored plating....always nice to find something different though...nice find HH

Oh yeah , they've been cleaned all right , and I'd say they've been buffed with a jeweler's mechanical buffer as well - Glad you
grabbed em though - they make great gifts for little kids just getting started in coin collecting -

They look like they were chrome plated. Did the guy work at a bumper restoration facility? I knew a guy that plated everything he could fit into the tank there in his spare time.
