On a random door knock I scored 5 silvers from an 1860 house. The owner was very kind and I am thankful she let me hunt. I hit two dimes my first go through the front yard. The back was filled and I realized back there I had changed my gain to auto on my CTX for power lines the other day. I promptly selected +3 and marched back to retrace my steps. Bing, bang, boom. A quarter and two more dimes. One was a 1916....but I didn't check the mintmark.

Happy Hunting and PDA (positive detecting attitude)

Hmmm...the military warns against PDA, lol.
Good job on noticing your settings were changed. Late last fall, I noticed I had some things notched out on my ATP. Don't know how long it had been like that, but I bet Cjon probably did it when I wasn't looking, lol. This is going to be one heckuva year for you silver wise at least.
Oh yeah...PDA means Public Display of Affection in the military.

Don't believe him for a second Dave. We know better than that.
Scrap another killer hunt buddy. One thing I actually like about the T2 is that I have to set it up every time I turn it on. Lots of people don't like it but it ensures that I dial it in every time. Like tomorrow on my first hunt if it's not a damn monsoon 8-)

My wife would love to see me prohibited from detecting. Not only would she see me more, she would also stop getting coins shoved in her face to look at.

Hi Scrappy. D = Denver S = San Francisco no Mint Mark or a P = Philadelphia. The MM tells where the coin was stamped.

We asked if the 1916 was a D because those, in that condition, sells for about $800!

The 1905 quarter has an "O" MM for New Orleans. They closed about a century ago.
