Got permission to hunt an abandoned 1906 house. Amazed how few signals there were. Must have been hunted numerous times over the years.

I did break my silver drought though.

First hit was what looked like a half dollar, though very crusty and looked like clad.

Wasn't till I got it home, and after 10 tin foil, baking soda treatments, discovered it was a 1953 D Franklin Half Dollar!

I hit a Mercury Dime 1919, a 1946 wheatie, and just a handful of 70's lincolns.

A Palmolive token.

Assorted other bits and pieces, including a nice square nail.
****update I did some more work on the purple car underneath. It's a Tootsietoy Purple 1955 Jaguar D-Type Race Car, USA. ****

First two photos, the Franklin before cleaning. 20190624_113408.jpg 20190624_112712.jpg 20190626_085752.jpg 20190626_085857.jpg 20190626_090315.jpg 20190626_093225.jpg 20190626_151543.jpg 20190626_151739.jpg 20190626_151745.jpg

Nice job on the silvers, especially the Franklin. That is one tough Half to find. I always like the Tootsie Toys also.
Thanks! It was a surprise to me also, I though it was clad, couldn't see it through all the crud, boy was I surprised 🖒 The Tootsie Toy is neat, my second I think.

That half dollar cleaned up very nicely! I used to have the purple toy car. It was older than me when I got it as a kid (guessing) Might qualify as antique and I'm only 41!
I'm pretty happy how it cleaned up, took enough swims in the pool though [emoji16] What I could find was 1955 for the car, so it would be about 64 years old. It still has all it's wheels....

Gotta be happy with that! Wow, your soil really takes a toll on the coins. Good luck in your future hunts!

Nice variety of finds. Great job on the big silver cleanup.
