I found this 1913-D Buffalo Nickel in a box today and think & hope it's a variety 2 - level ground. It looks identical to all the reverses of other Buffs I have - I don't believe it's a raised ground variety 1.

Any opinions?

Looks level to me Tim.

The more I started looking at examples on ebay, the more I believe it's a Type 1 - it seems as though the Type 2 has a straight line from rim to rim.
Mildly disappointing but any 1913-D with a readable date makes me very happy! ;D
I was even happier when a 1905 IH jumped out of my penny box tonight! :occasion14:

Sorry, but I am almost possitive that it is a Type-1 coin.

Though that is still a VERY rare nickel as far as buffaloes go, so grats on it nevertheless.

Too bad it is in such bad shape. Hard to say. Keep searching, there has to be a good one out there.
