Cool. I found one of those small 5 cent pieces in my step-father's potato patch when I was a kid. I don't know the year but I still have it somewhere. Neat finds!
I love finding those fish scales, I didn't even knew they exsisted until I found one metal detecting. But what I like the most is the tiny thimble. in the 18th and 19th century young girls had to do needle work as part of their schooling. many of their works of art called "Samplers" are highly collectable Antique samplers buy and sell . When I find these small thimbles I can easily picture in my mind, a small girl sitting by a large hearth fire place doing her needle work and being guided by her attentive mother.
Great finds, congrats.

Thx for posting I thought the thimble must be for kids. Must have started them sewing as baby's back in the day. Strangely the 5 cent and the thimble came from under the same tree as my v nickel, a silver cross, a silver ring inside a steel ring and some other goodies.
I better check again maybe big silver under that tree.
Thx for looking
