Well, we at least know that the coin is a "Type I" Standing Liberty Quarter due to the lack of Stars below the Eagle. Since all of the diagnostic points are too worn to identify the coin, except for the lower Drapery of Miss Liberty's dress/robe, then we have to concentrate any analysis there. Looking at the differences of the lower Drapery between the 1916 and 1917 Type I Quarters, I believe the the flatness and the lack of a larger opening at the bottom (which I believe would still show even in the coin's worn condition, if it had been there) of the dress/robe, makes me believe that the coin is in fact a 1916 "Type I" Standing Liberty Quarter.
