I found this little interesting piece of RALEIGH NC history while metal detecting yesterday for about an hour. The token ended up being a Baseball schedule for the Raleigh Capitals during the 1917 Carolina Leauge season. Hope you enjoy.
That's awesome!! Here's one I found years ago, from the Greensboro Patriots 1917 season. Im sure both coins have the same Patriots vs. Capitols game on them haha. Thats still one of my favorite finds. I gave it to my father who is a big baseball fan.
Way cool. i found atoken like that which has the 1912 baseball schedule for the American association ST Paul and L and Louisville. It is a Taggart's bread tooken and is dollar in size. a
Great find; and with history: The Durham Bulls defeated the Raleigh Capitals 7-4 on May 30, 1917. However, the North Carolina State League folded due to America's joining of the Allied Powers during World War I. The Bulls were declared league champions, even though the season was shortened to only 36 games.
