Decided to hit an area of the city with an old elementary school surrounded by park woods and a playground that is almost 100 years old.

I’ve hit an 1800’s dot nearby in the park woods and pulled some old coppers and relics, met up with MetalHeadz to try our luck around the playground.

While Hiking/swinging to the target area I got a 17 on the Nox. I find a lot of rotted pocket knives, rarely anything worth posting, but this one was cool.

Next find was a Merc, wheat, a bunch of Memorials, then this big copper token popped out, silver quarter signal.

Here is some research on the token sent over by MetalHeadz.

Here is the handful.

The old watch is marked 95 and a silver mark is on the opposite corner, crusty, but pretty high grade silver.

The zippo lighter body has an interesting engraving and was obviously stolen by someone with the initials K.S.

Also found a complete locking latch mechanism, most likely from a treasure chest.

Good luck out there!

Cool knife, I as well dig lots of roasted pocket knives and pieces of them. Never any cool like that. I did however lose a benchmade last year, Somewhere here in western ny, I remember what the area looks like but can remember which part of the State I was in exactly lol. Hopefully I can find it one day, it is stainless so It should be ok where ever it is .

That's a cool whiskey token and a nice addition to your token collection. You should start a display case with all your tokens. I guess the playground was a bust?

Very nice hunt. You got a 1939 World's Fair Pocket knife and a high grade silver watch case. I have come across 2 of those tokens. I do love Mercurys. What's not to like about that hunt?
Congratulations

It’s amazing how my typical 3” blob of rust I brush off and ID as an old pocket knife can give off such a nice tight silver dime type signal.

Thx! The playground is a big open sport field now. I beeped it for 30 minutes on a previous hunt only digging the deep signals and got like $2 in clad. Probably some silvers in there for the patient digger.

Congratulations

Thx! Looks like a number of Tnet’ers have found this token. I finally got to join the club. I like the design and the fact that it is in pretty good shape vs some of my toasty tokens.

I didnt find enough for me to make my own post so I'll add my finds from the hunt on your thread. I found a couple older wheaties (1919, 1920), old lock, and a crotel bell.

It's a common token but one of my favorites. I found mine 2 years ago.

Great hunt, that token is a sweet one but I think the knife is a winner, identified as being from a world known one time event, can't beat that. Congratulations to both for all the saves, awesome job!!!
