found a 1925 buffalo nickel today at work. I went home and saw that the 2011 official red book has it priced at $3.50 for G4 condition. I was wondering why this nickel is worth $3.50 when over 35,000,000 of them were produced when most buffalo nickels go for $1.25 and there are less produced then the 1925. Can someone explain the reason why this may be.

There are 1925 Buffalo Nickles on ebay from $1.00 to $125. It's hard to tell what you have from your description.

The Red Book is an estimate of a coin's value. It's not a bible and dealers laugh at the prices in the book.

Nice coin you found, if a dealer will offer you $3.50 for it, run for the hills, they are lowballing you. J
