Just guessing, but most coins are shot with a .22 caliber. It gives the coin some character !

I have found a number of wheats that where shot. I remember my dad telling me about his friends father when I was a kid. He said that he was an excellent shot and used to be able to flip a nickel in the air and hit with a 22. Before it hits the ground.

TO cool. the bullet still looks bigger then a 22. but smaller then a 38. I'm not to good with guns yet. I wonder if it was shot in the air? I didn't recover the bullet.

It was a .22.....found the penny & then the bullet about a foot behind it. What was really cool was that it was at my grandpas farm after he passed. He wasn’t a hunter but I still wonder if he made the “shot”!
