okay..

A. it was a 1943-D that sold for $1.7 million. not a 1943. it's a huge difference, since there are about 15 of the 1943 known to exist and owned by collectors around the world, but this was the FIRST & ONLY 1943-D that exists, as far as we know. and that's the reason for the big money it fetched. (Last 1943 sold at an auction for a little more than $400k)

B. $1.7 million are 170,000,000 million pennies (NOT 17 MILLION) and should weigh 476 Tons (NOT 46 TONS).
there are 100 pennies in a dollar, not 10

just annoying that they couldn't get their facts right :-\
