Hi Digger, You can see that the rim is larger, thicker, and flattened down more than a normal dime. That's where the reeding went. We call them dryer coins. It's post mint damage and a spender.

Looks just like the start of a coin ring, made by tapping the edge of a coin with a spoon.

Have you ever weighed this coin? That would help to determine if this is possibly
a dime punched into the incorrect blank, etc.

You can easily find out the correct/mint weights of coins...
