I posted this a while ago in the “What is it” part of the forum. After getting no responses to my question, I took the coin to a coin shop to have my find confirmed or denied.

It was confirmed by the coin shop. This is a 1984 d double mint mark!

Found in a coin roll. First picture is without a magnifier, second is with a magnifier.

Pictures.

Only the mint mark is doubled, but still a good catch!

the zinc rot under the copper cladding may be fooling our eyes, the warped look is pmd perhaps
otherwise I wouldn't categorize it as a doubled mm, but more of evidence of a repunched mint mark( rpm)
good eye on those fine details...I would have missed that

Thanks for pointing that out. I appreciate it. So it’s not a double mint mark, but a re-punched mint mark. Thank you for pointing that out.

There are a few varieties of 1984D RPMs. I have yet to find one resembling yours. If authentic, you may have a new variety.

Time for more coffee.

This poses a question. How do you get a coin authenticated? Do you think I should try getting this coin authenticated?

I don’t drink coffee, but I am in the mood for some herbal tea.

"How do you get a coin authenticated?" Did you type this in on ANY search engine? Remember, you are on the internet where info is at your fingers..
