welcome to tnet its a dryer coin it was in the dyer for a long time

U saying because of the heat that's why metal expand and get ticker....do u know what u saying

Well if the metal can be growing or becoming ticker by using dryer well ur dryer was amazing go put ur face in dryer might become a ticker ir exapand also like that coins u saying....theb ur face turning like that ...it doesn't matter cause ur face is error already

Rose - why the aggressive response? Gold Boy was correct. It is a dryer coin. It is a common question around here when people think they have a genuine error, but it turns out to be common PMD.

Diver _down so tell me also the dryer can make thick and expand the metal?

LovelyRose....Before you disappear from Tnet forever, let me explain...it’s not the heat from the dryer, it’s the rolling around, and evenly denting the edges.
Or, I could explain this concept in a rambling, misspelled, insulting tirade full of slang and Millenialspeak.....

You have not earned a thoughtful response. While new members are welcomed (Gold Boy even welcomed you first before offering up the reason for the PMD), the welcome is short if you choose to respond aggressively. Good day to you. You will not get any further communication from me.

And now for the next bout. In this corner.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look up the terms “dryer coin” and “spooning coins”. Both will cause the edge to thicken as the diameter of the coin lessens. One is caused by being tumbled in a dryer or similar device over time. The other by tapping the edge of a coin for hours on end by a spoon bottom, small ball peen hammer, or other device.

Time for more coffee.

no rose you Misunderstand :(

The dryer did Not make it Thicker.

If indeed it is a dryer Coin, Which it does appear so.
It would be like putting it in a rock Tumbler.

the more it Banged around inside the More Damage to the edges it would do. Including causing the edges to
Flatten Outward & appear Thicker.

No one is trying to mess with You !

oops ! Sorry for the Repeat of others remarks :tongue3:
I guess I should have read all before responding. I just saw you appeared to
be confused at what they were trying to explain & started to take offense :coffee2:

Lovelyrose: go online to see how a ring is made from a SILVER quarter or half dollar and then you will see how the constant stress on the coins metal content will change the shape of it into a different object, a ring. Same principle here as to a DRYER coin, like said coin tumbler effect. Happens all the time that I see flattened edges on dimes, PMD definitely.

This is what happens when you post the next day and do not have your coffee first! Lol
