Time to acknowledge the CRHers and amazing discoveries that stood out in 2008. I have some choices for winners but would like input for the other categories. On to the awards!

:sign13:[blue]THE LJ ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD[/blue]:sign13:

Named after our resident silver queen who took the board by storm in January 2007.

My nominee for 2008 is [green]BBcardsRI[/green] aka Dave. He jumped into the CRH deep end and had some impressive totals for a first-timer. He showed a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and had lots of encouragement for others. You're the man this year Dave, congrats!

:notworthy: [blue]THE GMAN SEARCHER OF THE YEAR AWARD[/blue] :notworthy:

Named after the man whose search amounts leave everybody in the dust. GMan, we all aspire to be like you!

This year I nominate [green]Kestrelia[/green]. His search range knows no bounds. He has remarkable success in denoms most of us shun like quarters and small dollars, and his blog is always a great read. The KMan can sometimes give the GMan a run for his money. Nice going Brian!

:-[ [blue]CRH LEGACY AWARD[/blue] :-[

In 2008 we bid a sad and far too early farewell to Steve the [green]Silver_Fox[/green]. Somewhere in California, bank tellers wonder why he hasn't stopped by recently. We'll miss his stories, his humor and his friendship.

Hehe... golden silver... thanks for the better link. I changed the link out to the one you provided.

I remember reading it too... but looking back through the search feature and such, it is hard to find all the best links!

Please don't be humble everyone in not giving links to your own finds... its the best way for us to gather them together! =)

Awesome thread Dave, VERY cool of you to compile all of it here!

The Franklin' half stash was awesome, as well as BB's dime haul!

MY NOMINATION FOR BEST CREDIT UNION HAS TO BE MY BELOVED NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. THE ONE I ORDER HALVES FROM DOES IT ON THE WEEKLY BASIS WITHOUT FAIL. I MEAN THEY HAVE NEVER MISSED AN ORDER IN OVER 6 MONTHS. THE TELLERS ARE NEVER RUDE TO ME WHEN I FILL UP THERE COIN COUNTER ON OCCASION AND EVEN CALL ME THE 50CENT GUY. ONE TELLER HAS EVEN PULLED IKE DOLLARS ASIDE WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING. GREAT CREDIT UNION AND DESERVES MENTION I THINK.

New poster shows his rookie of year "Dream Run" (4 box run)

http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,208860.0.html

This guy has to be considered for Rookie of the Year

And his 4 box run is the largest 1 day total I have read about.

I Nominate him in a new category for best multiple box run.

I have experienced this phenomena before and is the reason I like buying multiple boxes. Because if he had not ordered the 4 boxes he would most likely be talking about his 1 Dream Box and that's it.

Buying multiple boxes increases the odds of catching that full hoard that someone cashed in...........

Excellent work......... CRH at it's finest.

In theory that "buy lots of boxes" works... but in practice... it fails big time for me! lol =)

I was getting 6 boxes per bank from multiple banks each week... and I never had more than like 15 silver in one box!

Though I can see why LJ and others preach that method... it makes certain sense... assuming you factor in LUCK... which apparently I have negative of. ;)

I also totally agree that Steve needs to be mentioned... most missed is certainly fitting.

These are the awards, mistergee. ;D I think it's a better idea to just list the favorites instead of voting on which single one is best. Don't want to exclude anyone's picks.

So many good great ones to choose from. Overall it was a very successful year for CRH'ing for many folks in here. We all experienced the ups and downs of this hobby but kept plugging but of course that is what a good CRH'er does......keeps plugging....persistence....and then the big hit finally comes along.......perseveres......yeah baby!!!!!

Hats off to all of you!!!!!!!

It will be interesting to see what 2009 brings..........keep em coming................

RIP Steve
