I think its mexican i can see a 18 and some letters but I can't make any of the letters out.I don't think they made fake coins where i founf it i have found reales and cobs where i am searching will post them later.

looks like gold. it vaguely looks like a Mexican coin that someone holed and started to carve it into four sections. looks like a decent size so there may be some decent gold value there. congrats if it is gold. nice stuff overall.

I've been watching your other Mexico detecting threads and the stuff you've been finding is very interesting. The Hacienda tokens, rings and whatnot are great, so I'm hoping that this can be identified as something special. It would be awesome if you could take better pictures of the nicer finds you've made (and will be making) when you can or when you get back stateside.

Will do and i will post pics of the reales i have found they are dims size and dated 1797 & 1803 and i have found 2 cobs maybe i can get some help with dates have found other buttons and about 30 of the hacienda made coins that were given to the workers to use as money mostly dated 1820 the ones that are dated will do test on coin and post.

I'm going to bet its a gold coin. :thumbsup: Its hard to get that kind of color from fakes. 8-) I'd say its a 22k gold coin someone tried to make art out of. :dontknow: Screwed up and shot it, out of spite. :laughing7:
