Sweet find with a beautiful patina. My first LC was also a Vicky, and I've never found another one since that day. From what I've observed here on TNET, the Canadian large cents are superior to U.S. large cents in the way that they hold up underground. They just don't seem to develop much porosity. I guess they are similar to the U.S. two-cent pieces in that regard. Hope you find another one soon.

Good luck with the soon to be new baby and get out and swing while you can. The coin looks great.

Very pretty LC . I dug quite a few of those last year and none were even close to being that nice

Nice! Found a couple of those before, but I was detecting in northern NY near the border. They are collectible.

Terfpan you are EXACTLY right, but the main reason for those results is not composition, but just simply age, as The FIRST Canadian LG cent is newer than the LAST US LG cent, the amount of years in the ground has a lot to do with it.

Similarly with the 2 cent coin, it is simply "newer" than a LG cent, Maybe not as a specific, but as an average...right or wrong ?

Off topic, and back to your finds, I agree with the others. Nice eye appeal coin. .... now if they all could be like that.
