Tommy (my best friend) and I (on the left) recently met at Henry Clay Kritser Park in Raytown, MO for the 1st SHOW-ME competion.

Tommy works with a Tesoro Lobo Super Traq and I am using my Whites Classic ID. We detected for 45 minutes. Tommy concentrated on the mulched playground area and I on grassed areas around the shuffleboard and sidewalk areas.

The Whites beat out the Tesoro by 8 cents! The Tesoro found 5 dimes and 7 pennies and the Whites found 2 quarters, 2 nickels, and 5 pennys All post 64 coins. :o

Looks like Tommy is cheating with using the Tesoro Lobo. Here your hunting with a "truck" an Tommy is using a "sports car."

Keep up the good work.

Nice friendly competition. 8) Hmm....noticed that Tommy just found coins whereas you also got some nickles, tabs, and a lead tire balance. Wonder if Tommy turned up his disc. just a tad. Nothing derogatory meant, just an observation. HH to ya both!

Hey Sandman,

Future "SHOW-ME" competions will feature my Relco Frontiersman and Whites 4000/D Series 2 Coinmaster. I only use my excalibur 800 on the beach.

The Frontiersman I bought in 1971 and it's operating manual claims it to have "some of the finest features found in any metal detector". Relco's 1971 catalog claims Relco to be "The World's Most Famous Manufacturer of Metal-Mineral Detectors".

The 1982 White's catalog states the 4000/D Series 2 is "the best medium priced detector available.

So would the Frontiersman be a model T and the 4000/D be a 57 chevy?? :o :o :o :o :o
