2,200-year-old gold coin discovered in Egypt

That's an amazing coin. I believe it is Roman. Thanks for sharing

I watched many Roman coins recovered, but only two gold ones, and not as good condition that one is in...!
 

It seems further down are some real good stories as well.
 

Rubka888 -- coin is Egyptian (Ptolemy III/IV). Roman rule came a few hundred years later towards the end of Ptolemaic Dynasty

Edit: I rewatched the excellent HBO Rome series via Amazon Prime a few weeks ago. I'd forgotten just how great that show is. James Purfoy's Marc Antony stands out particularly but the entire cast is brilliant.
