I'm a newbie. I haven't learned to post a picture yet. I'll try. It does have the number 2 on top of an ear of corn, with the letter C below the ear of corn. It has a pin on the back of the ear of corn and is about 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches.

Almost sounds like a military collar pin. For instance 2nd Company and older than WWI but w/o pic is hard to say. The corn ear would indicate a symbol for a state. Just a for instance: 2nd Company Illinois Volunteers or some such.
