Wow it was hot today.

Started in a cow field with no luck, moved to a nearby game strip but we had done this already & left only a couple of plain buttons.
Then I noticed a wide tractor track that seemed worth going down in the next field. Half way down I noticed several bare patches in the rape crop, left by the Archie's trenches. So I did all these areas & got a few things:
1 Scrappy
Nice Victorian Royal Navy Button
Cut Shortcross Hammered
Medieval Sword Chape
Broken Roman Brooch with some enamel
Lead Cloth Seal.

I forgot my water so needed to get home, before I left I thought I would try the Bungalow garden which is currently empty as no-ones renting it at the moment. (after sticking my head in the horse watering trough to cool down, I continued to the garden) I don't normally do many gardens, but as I entered I thought I may just get a ring, not knowing I would dig two in the same hole!
Both only 9 Carat & dating from 1945. ;D Nice finish to the day. I think they may belong to the owners Dad, as he used to live there, if so I will happily return them both.

Very nice CRU,
I believe you could find a relic just about anywhere you put your coil.
Congrats on some super finds,I like the button with the gold gilt.

You should try sticking your head in the horse trough more often - seemed to work for you ;D

Fantastic finds - be interesting if you do know the owner and how they got to be there.

As always nice finds. I am guessing that the Medieval Sword Chape is the object in the second photo top left side, its nice what ever it is. What are the rest of the objects in the 2nd photo then? Nice idea to return the rings to the owners son (if that is correct of course). And yes, you don't find many gold rings from +/- 1945 on the fields in England!

The Chape is top middle.
The left is a Georgian furniture fitting.
Top right is an unknown

UPDATE:

Today I took the rings & other bits & bobs to show the farmer. I gave the two rings for her to check with her Dad if they were once his. If not I told her to keep them anyway, but let me know the story (if there is one). She spotted the cufflink & said that was his, so I gave her that as well. I don't find many rings but I have no worries giving them up as non-historic, I would make a terrible beach searcher :laughing7:

You know you will be rewarded for the good deed. I don't mind giving up finds. Makes me want to hunt that much harder.
