This morning after I cleaned the gutters and helped the wife bag up the leaves, it was time for more dirt fishing.

I went to Jim's house using the 5" DD coil. Ended up with 3 wheats (1944, 45, & 55D) along with a little cheezy gnome ring and some clad. Finds were few and far between so I decided to try my luck where the town has a street torn up. Boy that was a great move. :hello2: I pulled 2 silvers from there. A 1951 Ben Franklin (bucket list coin) :headbang: and a 1952 Rosie. :icon_thumleft: I also found an older bottle at the tear out. Not bad for 2.5 hrs. Now I need to find 10 more silvers to reach my goal of 50.

As always, hope ya'll got out and swung the coil :metaldetector: today.

Great job LD. In 3 years I have only managed 2 clad halves. You guys are slowly making my chances to get a silver one smaller each time you find one.

Congrats on the silver, especially that half! I'm at 40 silvers so far this year too, hopefully a few more before the snow flies!

Nice finds. Congrats. I have yet to pull my first silver half. I've found clad halves, but no luck on the good ones.

congrats on the BIG Silver. Any half is a good find.
My silver coin count is pretty pathetic this year, but sound some nice chunks so all in all I can't complain.

Well done on the Half and it seems like a while since a Ben has been posted up.
Dug a Kennedy half in the late summer but it's been years now since I've seen a silver half to show up. Then again any silvers from homesteads seem to be as rare as hen teeth around here.
Does the seam on the side of the bottle stop on the shoulder or run right up over the lip? Reminds me of a glue bottle, as it seems a bit tall for an ink, either way it's a cool find from a rip out as it survived.
