200 Year Old House........3 BUTTONS............Smallest one yet !!

HEY GUYS AND GALS

Hit the shore for a hunt and got skunked....so on the way home got permission to hunt a 200 year old homestead !!!

Glad we had permission as a guy stopped by to see what I was doing but was good after I told him I had permission. He said..."good man " !! I knew him anyhow so we just chatted about some history of the area.

As you can see it was infested with pennies.....but still managed a few old coins.

The snuff tin is kinda cool...nice pattern on it .

The tiny button is the smallest I have found to date and has the clasp still !!!

The 2 eagle buttons are kinda cool...any ideas on their purpose and date ?

Those are Great Seal Buttons. They have been used by the US military since WW1 and are still used on uniforms today.

Yup...will make another stab at it...was lotsa signals everywhere when I left....bugs were driving me crazy.Gotta be something really good there.

Just goes to show how much stuff there is out there ..but it is in people yards....not always easy for us detectorists to get to.

Was interesting dig in that knew had to be something old there...but wasn,t easy to find it amongst the modern clad etc.

But nothing overly great for finds....but fun indeed !!

Nice ID.....That goes with the age of the house roughly....poor shape but is something I don,t have.

Want to return to the spot that I found the Cartridge Plate but the bugs are horrible right now.......and the fields are no good now til they hay them.
