2008 Detecting Goals

I posted my goals for last year and reach all except one. The post kept me focused and helped me when deciding on what sites to hit. So I'm doing it again for 2008....feel free to post your own goals (or wish lists).

1. A SLQ (with or without a date although I would be thrilled with a date)
2. Five piece of gold. Last year I had three as my goal and only got one but I did very little water hunting.
3. A key date coin - any will do for now.
4. A large cent in good condition.
5. A silver coin older the 1850.
6. A Pre 1900s military button.

That is all I can think of right now but I feel this list will keep me focused.

Good luck to all in 2008 and hopefully the weather starts getting warmer soon.

Wow... Let's see...

1) $300.00 in clad
2) a Gold Ring
3) 3 Silver Rings
4) total of 20 silver coins of any kind
5) hunt MS River Banks here in my hometown
6) hunt a stream running through some land we own 3 hrs south of my house
7) hunt a beach...means I have to take a vacation

get my detector in and start hunting...I have found probaly 100 pieces of silver coinage in my house and really ready to start hunting out and about.

1. Buffalo nickel
2. Silver quarter other than Washington
3. At least 20 silver coins (had 11 this year)
4. 100 Wheat Pennies
5. An Indian Head or two
6. 2500 total coins
7. Gold ring/jewelry
8. Military button older than 1900
9. More Civil War Bullets (only found 1 last year)
10. Cross

I'm a newbie, so my list should be modest.

1) Get a detector I've decided on an MXT (and maybe an M6 for the wife)
2) 3 good rings, any color.
3) 1 merc
4) 1 silver quarter
5) 1 Indian Head
6) $50 in clad
7) 1 pre 1900 coin
8) 1 silver half (preferably a Ben)

That pretty much sums it up. If I can get on a site that gives me either of those, then any other goals I have for 2008 will be met.

The way those zinc pennies come out of the ground it will be hard to find one in good condition but I wish you the best!!

I would like to find anything nice right in front of my dumb brother in law. It is a pleasure to cut across in front of him and find a target. He does the same to me but doesn't find the stuff in front of me. Since I mainly hunt beaches and the water anymore, I am looking for that Rolex everyone tells me they lost over near the buoy.

I'm up to three pieces of gold but have not hit any of my other goals. I'll have to change that this weekend.

I hit goals 1 (I did not dig it but won it at my detecting club so I'll have to keep that one on my 2009 goals) ,2, 3 and 4. I still need 5, 6 and I'm updating one to be a dug SLQ.
