2014 Half Dollar

I found a few 2014 Kennedy half dollars in the last 2 boxes while searching for silver. I can't seem to find much about them and it's the first I've seen of them. I'm wondering if they are NIFC and anything special about them?

They are NIFC. Whether they are "anything special" is debatable.

It IS the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy half dollar. I'm sure people will be tucking them away. Your question to answer is: is that a good plan, or not?

I'd save one, I can live without .50.

Because the 2014 half dollar looks just like a 2013 (except for one digit) I wouldn't expect any extra value.
I keep two sets of of all NIFCs

Interesting comparing two worthless coins (2013 and 2014 Kennedy half) to mercury dimes.......??

The final mintage number for the 2014 Kennedy half aren't known but the are already more twice as many 2014 as 2013

The Merc 1916D had a superlow mintage (264,000) compared to the 1917D (9,400,000). This super low mintage gives the 1916D its special premium.
plus you are talking about coins nearly 100 yrs old, using a design no longer in production.

I stand by my original thought, there isn't anything special about the 2014 kennedy half to generate any premium in the near future, just like the 2013
