Oh well, Its still a good find.
When I find a 1916 Mercury dime I like to slowly turn it over and then rub the daylights out of it in hopes of having a "D" mintmark magically appear.
( I wonder how many '16 Mercury dimes I have with scratches where the mintmark should be)?

right now i'd take a merc with any mint mark. in 2 years only found 1.
