Love'n the detector! Found these beautiful pieces about two feet from were i found the first piece i posted last week. Arrived at spot and moved boulders up and down river from were i found the penny weight piece last week. I Was stoked with the little nug pictured, dug another signal that was even stronger 6 inches away and there she was!!! My partner and i did the gold dance for awhile and kit her hard, only to find the other two little pieces. Place is still lookn good. Work all week and back at it next weekend. With todays finds and the other gold i've collected this season fanning, i've paid for my Gold Bug Pro that I bought this last April. Stoked and haven a great time with the new detector.

I would have to run the material in the area I dug up something like that. Seems like you found a drop zone or streak if your near the water. Could be a good amount of smaller stuff. How deep were they?

Thank you everyone for the support - felln pretty lucky and proud

GoldProspector - I would say that it was found because i found the first nugget and stayed in the local to move overburden and continue detecting. My partner and afew others and myself have prospected throughout the area and have found pieces here and there but none in the immediate vicinity, so i'd have to say yes it could have been found prospecting alone but that the detector indicated the area and made cleanup allot easier. Prospecting alone i don't think I would have spent the time in the location once it wasn't showing any color.

GoldWasher - I did run the gravels and broke out much o the bedrock around the nugget, there was two small flakes in a crevasse close by but nothing else. My partner and i agree, were thinkn that it was the end of one paystreak that likely drops into another close by. We are returning this comeing weekend to Do Some Minning - the area looks very good just down from were this nugget was found but the over burden consists of big boulders and lots of cobble so the detector wont due much until we move the overburden. The first nugget afew weeks ago was just above water level and 2 in down a crevasse, the 1/4 oz piece was just down river and right at waters edge under 4 in of gravels and about an inch down a crevasse. High hopes for a pocket or a streak. and yes there is a drop just bellow were we worked - All good lookn stuff - we'll see this coming weekend.
Happy Days-Happy Hunting!!!

Congrats on finding some nice gold. I would be interested in what coil you were using on your Gold Bug Pro. Granted with that monster any coil would be sounding off.

Way to go! It is inspiring to see and hear. Hope you are able to move some of those boulders or follow the crevice next trip and find their relatives.
