Stopped by for about an hour this morning and did a little diggin'

Here's what I came up with.

1931 Wheat Penny

A metal (copper or brass, still trying to figure it out) hair barrette

Also found a shell case marked 8mm "Western" Looked on Wikipedia and found out this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Cartridge_Company Not sure how old it is. Would like to know how it got there, he lives in the middle of town.

Their is also a somewhat football shaped item that I am unsure of, looks to be some sort of piece of an emblem. A big 'ole washer, another washer type item that the center hole is separated. Almost looks like it could be used as some sort of adjustment for a strap. A bent nail? and what appears to be a piece of a handle. Also dug lots of foil/scrap/caps not pictured.

I think you need to go see your bro-in-law more often. Those are very nice finds.

There's two round washer things. The one with the straight piece across the middle is a hem/curtain weight. Keeps the dress or curtain from blowing in the wind. I think lostcauses is talking about the leaf shaped thing.
