I had a great day today at a new spot I have studied for a year or so, but never prospected (until today!). The water is so low I couldn't even run my little Angus Recon sluice. I can only pan in this area. I had to dig a hole in the creek bed to get enough water to classify and pan. I classified to 1/4 " and panned about 5- 6 gallons of material. Lots of yellow clay.

Here are my results from 5-6 gallons of classified material. I am very happy with what I found, I have prospected quite a bit the last year or so, but never had pans like this. I found a lot of nice garnets also.

Here is the rock I am working, there are quite a few spots like it, some of the boulders are much, much bigger.

I'd say that was a pretty good haul from that amount of material....nice!

Thanks Jim. I wish I could get a sluice running there. Oh well, I am happy to have a little "sweet spot" of my own nonetheless.
