I finally got my 10x12 DD coil for my Tejon and decided to go out today. I spent a few hours out at a place i have been several times and thought i would try my new coil. I was very impressed as i dug 3 buttons and 9 bullets. I dug 1 eagle button and the other 2 i have no idea what they are? Any ideas?

I'm not a button person, but they're neat looking. Sounds like you had a decent day.

They are civilian buttons but could very well be from the civil war period. Are there any backmarks on them?

A picture of the button backs would help date them but, at first glance, I would say mid to late 1800s. Might be some coins around those buttons. HH, Mike

I will post the backs and of the eagle button I found in the same area. Hopefully I can say a little longer than last time.
