Got wet again today.
Went to another new site, 2 hours. This place shows nothing on an 1850 map, but judging from the finds there certainly "could" have been.

Nothing special for sure, but oldest jewlery find without question. Nice also to show the bad, as well as the good.

The best copper is 1823 NS, not rare but more scarce than the other dates, the button, at least it is not a "flat". The broach, first ever old jewlery, I had no clue what it was when dug, I saw no green stones (and I use that term loosly) till I washed the dirt off at home.

Anyone know for sure what the left item is in pic 2 ?

"every hole, I'm that much closer to a good find"

Rick

Added,
2 pewter spoons, spade shaped item, (also cutlery ?) stove or pot part, this spot could have been occupied.

Yes, no doubt in my mind a wagon wheel band, been there awhile.

The item in question on the left is called a "Button Safety Check Hook" off of a horse harness.

Hey Johnny B.

Well I like your buckle finds of late, and I almost stayed in...I hate mud...everything stuck to everything, but what you gonna do...only so many days in a season.

That's 12 coppers this week, Mon till Fri.

Nice hunt, site seems promising.
Spoons, jewelery, button & coins not likely all lost on a picnic outing.
Nice collection of oldies, hope you pull some more!
