I got out to a site for 3 short separate hunts. This site used to have a colonial tavern on it and is located a little outside of Savannah, GA. The site has been pounded (heavily detected) by many local detectorists over the past 30 years and many colonial military and civilian items have been recovered. It would be one of those sites that many would consider "hunted out". I had a great 3 hunts, the second hunt being the best. Here are the finds and the video of these hunts. Best of it was the 1802- 1808 1st Regiment Artillery Button and the 1783 Spanish half real. I hope you enjoy it.

Wow! A 'pounded' site and you dug all those buttons plus Spanish silver?

And the buttons look like they were lost yesterday! That is some very kind soil... Super digs!

I go to my 'pounded' sites and dig ox shoes and rusty nails... and an occasional artillery shell frag...

I hunted an early site in the 70s a bit west of town. It was said to have been an old taveren site. This may be the same place! If so there are CW trenches there as well.

Awesome digs. As THB say... never hunted out. I believe that as technology improves, old “hunted out” sites will liven up to targets that the outdated machines simply couldn’t see. I believe the xp deus is proving that theory
