Stopped off at one of my local spots, found a shot 1937 wheatie, a 1902 indian head, and this lion button, the back is toast. about quarter size with a lion and crown, would like to know if its civilian or military, any ideas?

My best guess is it is a early (1920 - 1950) fashion button depicting a rampant. Based off the type of iron back you have described this is my best guess as I did not find an exact match to your button.
